Mary A. Johnson, 83, of Centralia, WA passed away Monday December 12, 2017 at Providence St Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA. She resided in Centralia, WA where she showed her passion for community by participating in church activities, donating her time to local organizations and charities, attending fitness classes at the gym, and being a member of the Moose Lodge. Her hobbies included collecting dolls, antiques, and attending blue grass music sessions with friends. She enjoyed spending time with friends, and enjoyed regular visits to the hair salon where her hair was washed and set while catching up on the community news. Mary was retired from Maple Lane School where she worked with at-risk adolescents and took pride in helping others. Family was important to Mary and this was shown by regular visits to their homes, organizing reunions, and keeping in touch by phone or sending cards/letters. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Helen (Johnson) Kuntz of Rochester, WA; three siblings, Eugene Kuntz, Audrey (Kuntz) Wright, and Linda (Kuntz) Petrich; three children Mary Kaye (Johnson) Waterman, Ruth Ann Johnson-Kazio, and Roy Harry “Johnny” Johnson. She is survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and extended family members throughout the Pacific Northwest.
