Virginia Jean Vegh

Virginia Jean Vegh, affectionately known as Jean, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Monday evening, June 23, 2025 with family present. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Dundr.

Jean was born on January 11, 1939 and lived most of her life in St. Clairsville, OH on Kinsman Road, except for a time when she was married to Anthony Vegh. She moved to Longview in 2018 to be near family: son Tony(Debbie) Vegh, granddaughters Ailee(Aaron) Gorman and Makenna(Hunter) Sweider, and great-grandchildren Ivy and Dane Gorman. Jean is also survived by her brother James(Marysue) Dundr, nephew Tim(Melissa) Dundr, niece Tara(Tim)Boyle, great-nephew Sidney Boyle, and great-niece Quinn Boyle.

Jean worked as a legal secretary beginning at 16 years old until her retirement at 72. She was meticulous and conscientious about her work which made her a reliable and trusted employee.

Jean loved life. When living in Ohio, she enjoyed going to the Dairy Jean for a chili dog and hot fudge sundae. Going for walks down the road with her neighbors and in the woods where she first introduced her son to God was something that she missed when she left Ohio. Jean loved traveling and was proud of all the trips she drove across the country. Time spent on her front porch, the ocean, Beartooth Pass, and Mt. St. Helens brought her peace. Music was a big part of Jean’s life, especially polkas and country music. A couple of her favorite songs were “You are My Sunshine” and “Take Me Home Country Roads”. Jean cared about animals and would feed the birds, groundhogs, and squirrels. She loved when her son brought friends over unannounced and would feed them around the fire pit. Other than her Lord, she loved spending time with her family the most.
