Terry Pierce Obituary

Terry Pierce passed away in the afternoon of March 6, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Terry was born on October 31, 1948, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. When he was four years old, his family left Oklahoma and moved to Morton, Washington. After several years, they relocated to northern Idaho, where Terry spent part of his early elementary school years. The family later returned to Morton, where Terry enrolled in school and where he would remain deeply rooted for the rest of his life.

Morton was more than just a hometown to Terry—it was home in every sense of the word. With the exception of a few years during his youth, Terry lived nearly his entire life there, building lasting friendships and strong connections within the community. He was shaped by small‑town values and a deep sense of place, qualities that remained a steady part of who he was throughout his life.

Terry was deeply involved in the Moose Lodge and was a devoted member of The Loyal Order of the Moose. His commitment and service earned him the Pilgrim Degree of Merit, the highest honor bestowed by the organization—an achievement of which he was rightfully proud.

Terry was also a passionate sports fan. He was a lifelong fan of the Seattle Seahawks and the Seattle Mariners and rarely missed a game. He especially enjoyed fantasy football, which brought him great fun, friendly competition, and connection with family and friends.

Above all else, Terry loved his family. He was a devoted and loving father and took great pride in his two sons, Ben and Travis. Being their dad was one of his greatest joys and accomplishments.

Terry faced his illness with quiet strength, determination, and resilience. Those who knew him admired his perseverance and the dignity with which he carried himself through difficult times.

Terry is survived by his sons, Ben and Travis Pierce; Ben’s wife, Jackie Pierce; Travis’s partner, Ericka Coleman; his sister, Sherron Elledge; five grandchildren; two great‑grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him deeply and carry his memory forward.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Pierce.

Terry will be remembered for his enduring spirit, his lifelong connection to Morton, his dedication to the Moose Lodge, his love of sports, and the deep pride he took in his family. We will hold his celebration of life on July 25th at 3pm at G & C’s, the former Moose Lodge.
