Teri Christy Obituary

Teri June Christy was 69 years old, born on October 9th, 1951 and passed away from Brain cancer on May 13th at 7:50PM at Mother Joseph's Nursing home. Our wonderful cousin Susie Conrad, was there to help Teri through this Journey, holding Teri's hand to comfort her, making sure she did not have pain or mental suffering during this time. Teri was an especially brave person who always handled physical pain and adversity in the most incredible ways, you could barely tell when she was in pain because she was mostly happy and optimistic, she would  always tell you she was OK!
Teri was a special person who happened to have special needs.  Teri grew up not able to speak, talk or use standard sign language but she was able to communicate in her own way and taught many how to talk to her.  If you got it wrong, she would just say you're a bit crazy for not understanding her!   She had a hot temper sometimes, mostly if she was frustrated, or if someone wasn't doing what they were supposed to be doing, she didn't like that.  She always wanted people to do the right things and to  be good, because she was good.   She was a steady, hard working, reliable funny person you could count on, like our dad Rudy.
Most of the time she was chatty in her own way, smiling  and laughing a lot, maybe at a TV show, or at whomever was present at the time, she thought we all were a little bit funny, probably something wrong with us? She worked really hard at everything and seemed to never stop even with Cancer she was always getting up doing something, she liked being in charge at work and at home she was capable and good at it.
She loved to take care of little kids helping to raise many of us along the way. She loved all animals but especially cats, if she could have been a cat lady, she would have, she fed many stray cats over the years and was always on the lookout how to help them. She loved and rescued her own cat Mocha, which she adored and pampered over these past few years.
Teri loved to travel and has been on many trips, first with our family from camping to cruise ships. Once married, she continued to travel all over the USA with her husband Milton. She got the travel bug from our mom Georgia who loved to travel all over the world.  Also like our mom, Teri really likes to play the slot machines and took that very seriously.
Teri June will be loved and missed by so many people in this world, she was a joy and will make a wonderful Angel in Heaven, many of us think about her in heaven talking everyone's ears off now that they can totally understand her. The things she must be saying? How often we all must have gotten things wrong:)
Teri is survived by her husband Milton, her brother Frank and two sisters Sandy and Sharon. Her nephews Alex, Jeremy and Matthew, her niece's Jesica and Samantha. Many Aunt's, Uncles and Cousins. Wonderful  friends, caretakers, co-workers and hospital staff that got to know her.  She was a blessing. A graveside service with urn placement  will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Little Falls Cemetery in Vader WA at 2 pm.
