Teresa Kae Ternan Obituary

Teresa (Terri) Kae Ternan of Chehalis, WA, a woman that if you knew her well, or
only met her one time, you had to love her, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026,
peacefully and comfortably at her home, surrounded by her closest family.
Terri was born on December 15, 1962, in Chehalis, WA to Roy and Pat Pratt
where she was the oldest of three siblings (Jeff and Cheryl).
Terri spent her childhood growing up in Toledo, WA where she attended school,
enjoyed camping, playing sports, and spending time with her many friends and family.
During high school she had her first job at Mrs. Beasley Burgers and graduated from
Toledo High School in 1980. After high school she went on to attend and graduate from
Centralia College. Terri worked at Klein Bicycle and Mckinnel tractor before starting her
lifelong career working for WSDOT for just shy of 37 years, where she was loved and
appreciated by so many.
On July 16, 1983 Terri married her lifelong husband Dave Ternan. In their nearly
43 years of marriage they raised four children, Rochelle, Amber, Nikki and Ben. Her true
pride and joy were her four grandchildren Hayden, Olivia, Harper and Railee. Of all of
her titles she held, being a grandmother was her proudest, most treasured of them all.
Aside from her family, Terri had many hobbies and talents. Among them were baking,
cooking, camping, garage saling, and traveling to name a few, but gardening and
growing her flowers was her true passion. She enjoyed the sunshine so she could get
outside and play in her garden and use her gift to make anything not only grow, but
thrive.
Terri is preceded in death by her brother Jeff Pratt, her father Roy Pratt and her
sister Cheryl Gillard. She is survived by her husband Dave Ternan, mother Pat Pratt,
children Rochelle (Scott) Haller, Amber (Dave) Gregory, Nikki Ternan, Ben (Danielle)
Ternan, grandchildren Hayden, Olivia, Harper, and Railee, and many aunts, uncles,
cousins, nieces and nephews.
Terri had a rare ability of being loved by anyone she crossed paths with. She
was a woman who always put others before herself, always saw the best in everybody,
never complained no matter the circumstance, and was always there for anyone for
anything, no questions asked. To put it simply, she was “superwoman”. These traits
came not only from the person that she was but from her deep faith in The Lord. She
was a proud Christian and that gave her comfort knowing she was leaving us here to
be with Our Father in Heaven.
As we remember the amazing woman that Terri was, let us let her life serve as a
life to be modeled after. Let the stories we tell bring us joy and happiness. Let us
continue to say her name and have her famous hour long conversations with not only
each other but with her still as well. Let the memory of her continue to be an inspiration
to us all and remind us to love like Terri did.

A celebration of life for Terri will be held Saturday, July 18, from noon to 3 p.m. at Grace Church, 1866 S. Market Blvd., Chehalis, WA 98532. Anyone who knew Terri and would like to attend is welcome. Lunch will be provided.
