Shelby Hart Obituary

Shelby Hart (née Mitchem), 45, passed away on March 5, 2025, in Seattle, Washington. Born on December 16, 1979, in Centralia, Washington, she lived a life filled with love, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to those around her. Shelby was a genuine person who loved with her whole heart. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—bowling with friends, hiking through nature’s beauty, and embracing her deep love for animals. The ocean held a special place in her heart, offering her peace and inspiration throughout her life. Her faith was also a guiding force; as a devoted Christian, she carried her beliefs with grace and compassion. She is survived by her loving parents, Gary Mitchem(father), Gaye Lynn Chandler (Mother), and Bruce Chandler (Step Father); her sister, Krysteen Mitchem; her step siblings, Joel Chandler and Megan Chandler; her x-husband, John Hart (married 2002-2022) and her two cherished daughters, Ash Hart and Evelyn Hart. Shelby’s love for her family was boundless, and she touched the lives of many with her warmth and generosity. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on March 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Borst Park Kitchen 1, located at 2030 Borst Ave in Centralia, Washington. This gathering will be potluck-style—attendees are encouraged to bring comfort food that reminds them of Shelby or simply something that brings them solace. Everyone is welcome to attend, whether they knew Shelby for years or only briefly crossed paths with her. Her impact on those around her was profound, even if she never fully realized how deeply she was loved. Shelby’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May those who loved her find comfort in the legacy of kindness and love she leaves behind.
