Rodney Christian Obituary

Rodney Lee Christian was born Sept. 23, 1957 in Morton, Washington to Arnie Christian and Carol Cox (Randall). Rodney suddenly passed away, due to health conditions, at his home in Centralia, Washington on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024.

Rodney spent most of his childhood in Glenoma, Washington with his Grandma Polly, dad and siblings. As a child he enjoyed hunting, shooting guns, and playing in the barn. Around the age of 14 Rodney moved to Santa Clara, California. This is where he found his love for motorcycles and classic hot rods. In 1978 he met the love of his life, Donna. Rodney and Donna welcomed their first child, Joshua, and later married in 1980. In 1981 their daughter, Brandi was born. Joshua and Brandi were Rodney’s whole world. In July of 1989 sadly, Joshua and Brandi left this world to be with the Lord, just days later their daughter, Leslie, was born. Leslie kept Rodney going in life. She was his gift from God.

In his later years, Rodney enjoyed all things adventurous: searching for Bigfoot, gold panning, looking for treasure with his metal detector, and playing slot machines. Rodney liked hunting and enjoyed the thrill. He took pride in being a good dad to Leslie, all of her friends and an even better grandpa to his grandchildren; Colby, Ariyah, Zaiden, Danika, and his many “adopted” grandchildren. He was often referred to as “Uncle Comfty Belly” by his niece and nephew.

Rodney is preceded in death by his dad Arnie Christian; mother Carol Randall; step-father Derald Randall; his children Joshua and Brandi Christian; niece and nephew Kristopher and Rebecca Davidson. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Donna; daughter Leslie (Tim); brother Robert (Bobbie); sisters Cheryl (Rocky), Michelle (Brian); step-brother Lawrence (Kim); and grandchildren Colby, Ariyah, Zaiden and Danika; including many nieces, nephews, and life long friends.

Rodney was quick witted, had a nickname for everyone, and always had a dirty joke to be told followed by a contagious laugh. He was known for his non-judgmental and caring heart. No matter the circumstances, you could always count on him. He is already truly missed by his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 2, at 2 p.m. at the Newaukum Grange in Chehalis, Washington.
