Richard D. Spencer Sr. died on January 12, 2026. He was 74 years old. He was born March 24, 1951, to Douglas and Betty Spencer. Richard graduated from Centralia High School in 1970. He was active in dirt bike motorcycle racing up to his time when he enlisted in the US. Army. Richard married his wife of 51 years Toni Marie in 1974. They have three sons, Christopher Lee, Douglas Anthony and Richad D. Spencer Jr.
He loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed going to motorcycle and sprint car racing, but most of all watching his boys and grandchildren play sports. He enjoyed the family get-togethers where he loved spending time with his parents and siblings.
He was the oldest of eight children and has four brothers Dennis, Gordon, Dale and Jeff, three sisters Lori, Kimberly and Denise. He worked at Olympic Sawmill in Mist, Oregon from 1975-1991 where he was the head sawyer at that time. Later he worked with his brother Jeff at Centralia Box and Vault, a generational owned business, until his retirement.
Richard has six grandchildren, Emily, Jace, Bryce, Aidan, Elizabeth and Aslyn. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He has numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Douglas and Betty Spencer.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Newaukum Valley Golf Course on Saturday, Feb. 7 from 1-5 PM.
