Richard "Dick" Allen Dorothy

Richard Allen (Dick) Dorothy, 92, of Winlock passed away peacefully on December 4th, 2025 in Longview, WA. Born in Midwest, Wyoming to Lilah and Ernest Dorothy on May 23, 1933. He moved to Winlock when he was in the third grade and graduated from Winlock High School in 1952. Dick served in the Army (Korea) after high school. In 1959 Dick married Delores Rupe and they had 4 children. Dick owned a gas station in downtown Winlock. He later drove log truck and worked for Gootee’s as a mechanic. Dick eventually went to work for the Lewis County PUD. Dick was a longtime member of the Winlock United Methodist Church, St Urban Grange and Hope Grange, the JayCees, and the Eagles (area 1550). Dick also enjoyed coaching baseball, traveling to Reno, coin collecting, researching his ancestry and spending time with his grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his wife Delores in 2016, his brothers Edwin and Dennis Dorothy and leaves behind 4 children Ron (Beckie) Dorothy, Jeff (Michaelea) Dorothy, Mike (Tammy) Dorothy, Deanna (Lynn) Harpel, 8 granddaughters, 14 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins and many friends. He will be greatly missed! A Celebration of Life will be held at the United Method Church in Winlock on Saturday, January 24th, 2026 at 11 AM with a reception to follow.
