Richard Brooks Obituary

Richard Clement Brooks was deceased at 87 years. Born October 25, 1938, in Burbank, California. He crossed the 'veil' on November 23, 2025, in Winlock in the state of Washington. He was able to join his sweet wife Patricia who passed before him on October 28, 2022. They left behind them 62 years of marriage commencing November 26, 1960.

He leaves behind a brother Keith D. Brooks proceeded by the death of two sisters Joyce E. Clerk, and Shirley M. Goodman. All of whom were gifted of godly parents, Clement G. Brooks and Marguerite Brooks.

He retired after 34 years of serve as a deputy sheriff in the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. Where after, he moved in a small town of Winlock in Washington on a 5-acre home surrounded by beautiful pine trees.

Through the life of Richard and Patricia they raised 4 children, Bonnie, Kimberly, Jason and Shawn which provided offsprings of 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He attended the first 12 years of education in Burbank, California attending McKinley Grammar School, Jordan Jr. High School, John Burroughs High School and then received an electrical engineering associate degree at the Los Angeles Community College, Los Angeles.

Drafted in the Army on September 1958 and honorably discharged on September 1960. His last year of service was in Seoul, Korea.

He leaves behind a favorite friend ' Fluffy', a 32-year-old white umbrella parrot who has been a devoted friend filling in hours of conversations and hours of personal handling.

Physical failures involved a diabetic condition and finally a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) thought to be caused by the years of dust given off from my friend 'Fluffys' feathers.

Following the Lord's teachings, Richard and his wife has left this world filled with the blessings of a full closure, through the obedience to what he and his family have been taught throughout their lives, as they followed the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
