In loving memory of Nancy “Kay” Raupp 1939-2025

Kay Raupp passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025 at the age of 86.  Born February 25,1939, Kay was raised in Vader by her grandmother Nora Hall. 

Kay graduated from Toledo High School in 1957.  She later earned a degree in English from Western Washington University in 1961 and completed a Master Degree in Education Leadership at the University of Portland in 1992.  Kay was a dedicated teacher and advocate for public education.  A major portion of her career was with the Onalaska School District teaching 2nd grade.

In June 1962 Kay married John Raupp.  In 1967 they settled on a small farm in Winlock where they spent the majority of their loving 63 years of marriage raising their family and serving the community. 

Kay’s life was full of love and devotion to her family, community and the Catholic Church.  Kay was known for her baking and cooking for family gatherings.  She enjoyed reading and getting together with her book club friends. Kay believed in education and was involved in several scholarship fundraisers and selection committees.

Kay is survived by her husband, John Raupp of Winlock; their children; Anna (Daniel) Beraun of Olympia, Brian (Jill) Raupp of Burlington, Dan (Cheri) Raupp of Winlock; their grandchildren, Michael (Valeria), Andrew, Tony, Piper, and Caitlin Raupp, their great grandchildren; Giovanni, Gabriel, Greyson, and Gracelyn Raupp; her sister, Marj (Dick) Markiewicz of Houston, Texas. Our beloved Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Sister and Mother-in-law will be missed by all.

Kay’s funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, May 9, 2025 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, 120 Powell Road, Castle Rock, WA.  A graveside service will follow the funeral reception at Vader Catholic Cemetery.

We invite you to join the family in praying the Rosary at 10:30 am prior to the funeral mass at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church.
