Myron Bruce Swanson was born March 19th, 1955 to the late Leonard Paul Swanson and Barbara Jean Swanson in Chehalis, Washington. He attended Winlock Schools, graduating from Winlock High School in 1973. Soon after Bruce went to work for Shakertown and worked there for almost 16 years. In 1990 he went to work for Bozarth Cedar Sales and retired from Bozarth's in 2016.
Bruce and Sylvia S. Gardner wed April 19th, 1980 along the Newaukum River near Chehalis and shared nearly 38 years of marriage together.
Bruce lived to work and be active. Some might say work was his "fun". Idle moments were few and far between. Fishing and clam digging at Ilwaco and fishing at Neah Bay were annual traditions for him, which had started when he was a young man with his father Leonard. Ilwaco was a sort of second home where Bruce made many great friends. After Bruce retired in 2016 he only worked harder on a "to do" list without end. Fishing, clamming, and hunting were his favorite pastimes, even if he snuck in some work while he was there. Despite his busy schedule Bruce would never hesitate to help a friend or family member needing a hand, with the customary "well if a guy". He never complained about the work to be done, he simply did it. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew Bruce. He peacefully departed this life Wednesday, February 21st, 2018 at his home in Winlock, WA.
Bruce left this life to be with his friends and loved ones who went before him. His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia S. Swanson, of Winlock, WA, Sisters and their husbands; Anita (Swanson) and Jerry Holt of Ethel WA, Tracy (Swanson) and Kelly Harness of Camas, WA. His children and their families; Therese and Scott Blinks and their daughter Reese Blinks of Chehalis, WA, Trent Swanson and Lisa Larson, and Lisa’s daughter Shyanna Lowery of Winlock, WA, Terry Swanson of Morton, WA, Thad Swanson of Chehalis, WA, Tony Swanson of Winlock, WA/Dickinson ND, Cathi Wichert, ex-wife and family friend, also his numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Friends and Fishing Buddies.
