It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Micheal DeWayne Guffey, who left this world on June 22, 2025, at the age of 42. Micheal was born on July 19, 1982, in Morton, Washington, to Robert Guffey and Elma Bowen, and was a longtime resident of Glenoma, WA.
Micheal was the epitome of what a man should be—strong, loving, dependable, and selfless. Known for his heart of gold, he would give anything to help others and was always the first to step up for his family, friends, or anyone in need. He was a true family man, devoted to those he loved, and took pride in providing for them.
He is survived by his loving wife, Laura Guffey, and their six children: Harlen Norman, Kaisha Guffey (Logan), Ethan, Skylar, Jeremiah, and Eivan. He also leaves behind his mother Elma Bowen, mother-in-law Brenda Gray, and siblings: Michelle (Jim) Attaway, Mariah (Joe) Harvey, John Bowen, Jordan Guffey, Kolby Bowen, Kyle Bowen, Spencer Landefeld, Jerry Bowen, and Jr. Hartley.and numerous aunts and uncles.
Micheal was also dearly loved by his sisters-in-law Mamie Hack (David) and Desirae Gray (Greg), brother-in-law Robert Hack Jr., many nieces and nephews,and a grandson. He is also survived by his Tucci family, who were like brothers and sisters to him.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Guffey, stepfather Johnny Bowen, stepsister Katy Bowen, Ben Eastman, grandparents Haden Guffey, Lessie Smith, Pocohantas (Kay) Mann, Ross Mann, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Micheal was a proud and dedicated member of the Operating Engineers Local 612, having initiated into the union on August 26, 2005. He had been employed with Tucci & Sons since 2012, where he was respected for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and brotherhood among the crew.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the White Pass High School Gymnasium. A potluck will follow the service, and all who knew Micheal are welcome to bring a dish and join in celebrating his life.
Micheal’s legacy will live on through the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the memories cherished by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
