Melody Lynn Taylor Obituary

Melody Lynn Taylor

July 13, 1961 – May 7, 2026

Melody Lynn Taylor, 64, of Centralia, Washington, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, surrounded by the Love of her family.

Melody was born on July 13, 1961, in Wichita, Kansas, to her adopted parents, Everett Berry and Lorene Carroll. She spent her younger years growing up in Wichita before later moving to Bakersfield, California. In her mid-20s, Melody relocated with her family to Oregon, where she continued building a life centered around love, family, and caring for others.

Throughout her life, Melody worked as a caregiver, dedicating much of her adult life to helping and supporting those in need. Her compassion, patience, and gentle heart touched many lives over the years. Beyond her professional life, Melody was known as a kind and caring woman who deeply loved her family and treasured time spent with them.

Melody was never afraid to speak her mind and could always keep a conversation going — even when you didn’t expect it or want her to. Her bold personality and honesty were simply part of who she was, and those who knew her will always remember her voice, laughter, and presence.

She believed strongly in forgiveness while also being wonderfully set in her ways. Melody had a deep love for Jesus and enjoyed collecting angels, which brought her comfort and joy throughout her life. She also proudly made it known that she would always love Johnny Depp and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Melody had a strong passion for dogs and cats and cared deeply for animals throughout her life. Above all else, she loved her family fiercely. Her children will always remember how incredibly hardworking she was — from the time they were little children all the way into adulthood — always doing what she could to provide, support, and care for those she loved.

Melody is survived by her children, Daniel Comer, Amy Comer, Brad Bennett, and Robin Bennett. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, along with her older sister and several nieces and nephews who will continue to cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her spouse.

Melody will be remembered for her loving spirit, strong personality, unwavering heart, and the warmth she brought to everyone around her. Her family and friends will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Memorial service details will be shared with family and friends at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local animal rescue or a charity of your choice in Melody’s honor.
