Marie J. Sareault, age 86, died on Feb. 18, 2025. She was born May 17, 1938, to James and Clara (Borte) Sareualt - third child, she was a member of the Cowlitz Tribe of Indians.
She was preceded by her parents, brothers John (Jack) & Thomas, and is survived by her sister Therese of Cosmopolis, WA. She is from two large families - Lewis County Pioneers. She is also survived by many cousins in WA, OR, NB, MN and Cananda.
She and her sister were one year apart in age and very close. They traveled often driving the west coast and bus trips.
Church and family were important to her. Weekly drives to "The Farm" early on, family reunions and Christmas dinner with all who would come. She and her sister were designated "Baby Sisters" for these times. She was active in church as lector, eucharistic minister and choir. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church, Chehalis. She attended St. Joseph's School and St. Mary's Academy, Toledo.
Marie was very talented in crafts. She was a square dancer and loved shopping in thrift stores.
After high school she worked at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital, Tacoma until her father's death in 1963. She returned to Chehalis and worked at St. Helen's Hospital business office rising to business manager then worked at Security State Bank moving several positions through her 25 years. Marie made many friends and was called "Auntie" by some.
Right of Christian Burial Service will be held at St. Joseph Church in Chehalis on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 11 AM. with a gathering to follow in the church hall. Burial will take place at St. Francis Mission Cemetery immediately after the gathering.
