Lynn Davis Obituary

In loving memory of Lynn M. Davis.

Lynn departed this life to be in the loving arms of Jesus on April 23rd, 2024 at 84 years of age at Peacehealth St. Johns Medical Center in Longview WA.

Lynn was born October 20, 1939 in Seattle, WA to Clyde A Davis and Beulah E Profit, who raised him.

Lynn grew up in the beautiful Snoqualmie Valley. During his years at Mt. Si High, he was on the basketball team that went to the state championship in 1957. After High school Lynn joined the Navy and served from 1957 to 1959 and continued his inactive duty until 1963.  Lynn married Clara Bahnmiller (Davis) on June 5, 1970. Lynn and Clara were only a month shy of their 54th anniversary.

Lynn is survived by his wife Clara Davis and 6 of their children: Cheryl Hubbard (Garth), Teresa Gress, Randy Brown, Ken Brown, Sandi Yoder (Ken), and Dan Davis (Karen); Sister Joan Adcox (Howie). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Lynn was preceded in death by his son Randy Davis (Amanda); his brother Gary Davis (Marcia); his grandson Joshua Wright; his grandson Jeremy Wright; and his great grandaughter Charlie Jo Ross.

Lynn was entrepreneurial spirited and had many jobs and owned many businesses over the years. This included:  logger for Weyerhaeuser, dairy farmer, fire detector sales, life insurance sales, accountant, car sales, owner of multiple taverns and a restaurant, gaming equipment, and beer/wine tap cleaning business. Business was a big part of his life and he enjoyed all the busyness it involved.

At 66 years of age,  Lynn and Clara retired to Ryderwood, Wa to enjoy their retirement years together where they made many new friends. During the past 18 years they were able to enjoy some trips to Mexico, Arizona and other destinations to visit family and friends.

At about 70 years of age, Lynn began to read the Bible in earnest for the first time in his life. After a year of reading and studying he knew there was something drawing him. Soon his heart opened to the love of Jesus Christ. Lynn and Clara began to attend Ryderwood Community Church and Lynn started giving of his time to the church in various ways.  Lynn loved the Ryderwood community and enjoyed working and organizing meals at the cafe as well his time working at RISA.

Lynn loved his family, his extended family and his church.  He was known for his quiet and serious demeanor but those who really knew him experienced his fun loving sense of humor with a giggle and heartfelt laugh. He never lost his passion for basketball and adopted the Golden State Warriors as his favorite team after the Seattle Supersonics moved. He especially loved being a husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa. Lynn wanted nothing more in his final days than to have family and friends know he was going to be with Jesus and for all of them to be followers of Christ too.

Psalm 37: 3-6

Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord: trust in him and he will do this; He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn
