Lowell Woodbury Ramsdell

July 5, 1929 ~ May 30, 2022 (age 92)

Lowell Woodbury Ramsdell was born in Armour, South Dakota on July 5, 1929 to Harold and Esther Ramsdell. He passed away on May 30, 2022 in Olympia, WA surrounded by his family.

Lowell was in the military stationed in Japan after WW11. He met his wife Frances Fern Thaler while visiting relatives in South Dakota. They were married on March 10, 1953 in Lake Andes, SD and spent their life together in Winlock, WA.

Lowell had several jobs in the Winlock area including his father’s chicken farm. He also enjoyed raising cattle starting with a small herd of dairy animals switching to beef production later on. As he got older he still wished he could be working the farm to its capacity. He allowed a neighbor to graze cattle and harvest the hay on the farm.

His main recreational hobby was fishing which he did in many of the local lakes, rivers and in the ocean.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years Frances Ramsdell and children Roger Ramsdell, Pamela Nistler, and Susan Lander.  He also has six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
