Leslie ‘Sonny’ David Lininger born on December 1, 1945, passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on January 1, 2026 at Providence Centralia Hospital.
Sonny was born and raised in Adna, WA and was a lifelong resident of Lewis County.
He married Lois Ritter in June of 1965 and had three daughters; Brenda De-Arcos, Cindy (Danny) Carson, and Holly Christin.
Sonny married Lyndia Lininger in September of 1991 and gained two sons with that marriage; Jon (Aaron) Norman, and Darrell Norman.
He excelled in sports in school and played slow-pitch softball well into his 50s. He was a hunter and especially enjoyed yearly hunting camp with numerous family members and lifelong friends. Sonny’s grandkids cherish the memories they have from these hunting trips.
He started logging immediately out of high school and later went to work at LC Market and Fullers in Centralia where he remained until his retirement.
Sonny is proceeded in death by his parents Ernest ‘Blackie’ and Ada Lininger, and siblings; Orene Slusher, Ida Fuller, and Bob Lininger.
He is survived by his wife Lyndia; children, Brenda Dearcos, Cindy (Danny) Carson, Holly Christin, Jon (Aaron) Norman, and Darrell Norman, grandchildren; Brittney (Alvaro Martinez) Carson, Derek (Sara) Carson, Alexis Carson, Austin (Brenda) Edinger, Taylor Norman, Kyle (Emily) Norman, Reagan (Samual) Dean, and Braden Norman, thirteen great grandchildren, siblings; Lee (Colleen) Lininger, Wade (Lisa) Lininger, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family welcomes you to join them for a potluck celebration of Sonny’s life on Sunday February 22, 2026, at 1pm at the Adna Grange located at 123 Dieckman Road, Chehalis.
