Lee (Skip) Jason Enger, 84, passed at home on April 2, 2026, in Toledo WA surrounded by his wife and daughters. Lee was born on December 5, 1941, to Leonard and Hilda Enger.
Lee graduated from Toledo High School in 1960 and went on to attend Linfield College in McMinnville OR where he graduated in 1964 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Lee worked side by side with his father Leonard in the Enger Grocery Store in Toledo. Lee served in the Washington National Guard from 1967 to 1977. Lee started his banking career in Centralia WA at National Bank of Commerce of Seattle in 1967. He retired from US Bank in August 1997. After retirement, Lee worked at various hardware stores and retired from Palmer Lumber in 2009. Lee was a member of the Toledo Masonic Lodge for many years.
Lee met his wife Nancy Gleason in 1960 before he went to college, and they married in June 1964. They had a full life together raising their two daughters, Julie and Cheryl.
Lee was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family. His favorite hobby was working in his woodshop where he built cradles for his grandchildren, many kitchen cabinets and special-order items.
Lee was a quiet, confident and humble man who had a special love for the Lord. He is now resting in the arms of Jesus.
Lee is survived by his wife, Nancy Enger; Daughters Julie Enger and Cheryl Polasek (David); Grandchildren Stephanie Boone and Lucas Polasek, and 2 Great Grandsons; His Sister, Donna (Rod) Heivilin, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Hilda Enger; Aunt Julia (Junie) Enger and Great Granddaughter Izabella Zamora.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, at 1pm at the Toledo Presbyterian Church.
