Kathy Thompson Obituary

Kathy is following her son Thad who tragically died in a motorcycle accident in 1997. Losing him affected her greatly the rest of her life. She is survived by her husband Don of Randle, WA. and Santa Clarita, CA..Her son Gary and girlfriend Janice of Oceanside, CA. Her daughter Odessa and her husband Rick of Mansfield, TX. Her stepson Michael and his wife Keri of Coupeville, WA. Kathy has four surviving sisters and their mother referred to them by number. Number 1 Evie and her boyfriend Phil of Surprise, AZ. Number 3 Barbara and her husband Travis of Surprise, AZ. Number 4 Connie and her husband Jeff of Marana, AZ. Number 5 Chrissy of Grand Jct., CO. and at least three cute Grandkids. Four Grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. I must add her best friend Bonnie Vanderhue who helped both of us during this difficult time. Kathy could live anywhere but fell in love with Guam, where two of her children were born and Randle, WA where she built quite a home from nothing. She fell in love with the mild four-season climate, the green mountains, the volcanoes, and the rural life. Kathy was a unique person and it showed on her P/U truck. You may have seen her flowered "NO ONE RIDES FOR FREE" truck on our many road trips across the country and driving around Lewis County. We were stopped by law enforcement numerous times and once when we drove through South Chicago Town where I believe the locals thought we were old drug dealers. I did have my gun with me. Towards the end in the hospital, she wanted out and me too! The staff said "No", but we took control. She would have fought an Army to get out of there. The diagnosis was final, the end came fast. She died peacefully with me by her side at home. At her request she wanted no services, and the family does not want any flowers or gifts. she would want everyone to just carry on. Poopsie, I will miss you forever! My Randy Dog signing off!!!!

From stepson Michael. You referred yourself to me as Mom #2. To call  you a unique person is an understatement. You had your opinions that did not always agree with mine or anybody else's but I'm incredibly grateful to have learned to understand you in recent years. You have shown your love and devotion to us and were there for the most important of times. Whether it would be playing cards, listening to old music on records, shoot the XXXX, telling stories, having the most awkward conversations. You were stubborn to the bone, straight up with your beliefs and stood strong. We love you forever Mom and thank you for you invaluable contributions to our lives. We will miss you terribly but know you are reunited with Thaddeus. Chartreuse.
