Kathy Jendryka Obituary

Kathy Annette (Hatfield) Jendryka, 78, Chehalis, departed this world on Sunday, March 22, 2026, peacefully with family at her side at St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia, Washington.  Kathy was born to Herman and Imogene Hatfield on April 24, 1947. She graduated from W.F. West High School in 1965 where she met the man who would become her life-long partner and husband, Stanley Jendryka.  The two were married at St. Francis Mission in Toledo, Washington on September 3, 1966. Together, they settled just outside of Napavine and raised their three children Brian, Lori, and Shawn who were always the center of her world. Kathy was an amazing homemaker and before retiring worked outside the home as a caregiver to those with special needs.

Kathy enjoyed music and was an accomplished piano player. She especially enjoyed playing Christmas carols creating a fun atmosphere during the holidays. She also dearly loved animals and was very particular in the care of her chickens and her cat, Annie. Kathy also enjoyed many camping trips to Fort Flagler and other beautiful places with family during which many fond memories were made going exploring and riding bicycles. She had a passion for gardening and took great pride in caring for her beautiful flowers. Baking for her family also meant the world to Kathy as she always prepared a delicious creation to family gatherings.

Kathy leaves behind her husband, Stan, her children Brian (Susan) Jendryka, Lori Jendryka-Cole (Shane), and Shawn (Lacie) Jendryka as well as grandchildren Joseph and Noah Cole, Stephen and Kristin Jendryka, and Valen and Quay Jendryka.  Her grandchildren were truly the apple of her eye. She was also close with her nieces Jami Larson and Mary Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Imogene and her sister and brother-in-law, Patti and Harvey Larson. Her family will forever be grateful for her love, strength, and kindness she showed every day. Kathy is deeply loved and cherished by her family and friends.

A graveside service was held at Claquato Cemetery, Chehalis, Washington. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers or other sentiments, Kathy would have appreciated your donation in her name to the Lewis County Animal Shelter.
