Juanita Louise Nelson,  85

Went home to the Lord on February 4, 2021. Juanita was born on October 18, 1935. In Chehalis, WA. She was the second of five children of Ivan and Dorothy Armstrong. After graduation from Chehalis high school, she married Leroy Allison. They had five children, they divorced in 1962 and Juanita continued to raise their children. She met and married Malcolm Nelson, where they moved to Winlock, WA and continued to raise her 5 children. Juanita enjoyed working with the public, she graduated from beauty college, but found that waitressing fitted her busy lifestyle better. Juanita spent the better part of her career working at Country House Restaurant with her three sister and many other relatives. Juanita and her sisters were well known in the surrounding communities for their friendly personalities and tentative nature. Towards the end of Juanita’s career, she became a bookkeeper at the Country House Restaurant. After retiring Juanita volunteered at Winlock Senior Center. 

            Juanita was a grandmother & great grandmother of many, she helped in the raising of many of them, she was an energetic lady, always willing to help others out. Juanita’s hobbies included crocheting, gardening and canning fruit and vegetables. She loved reading, playing cards, word find and puzzles. Juanita had two lifelong friends Patricia Savage and Wanda Pecha, which they loved to travel.

            Juanita was preceded in death by her parents Ivan, Dorothy Armstrong, her sisters: Charlotte Billingsley, Norma McCallum, Wilma Armstrong and a brother, Leroy Armstrong. Preceded in death one son, Gerald Allison.

            Survivors include four adult children: Son’s Alan Allison, David Allison spouse Amy Allison, Rick Allison significant other Alfreda Sipe, and Juanita’s daughter Wanda Maze.  Juanita had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and as well as many other relatives.

            A memorial service will be held at Jackson Prairie Assembly of God “4224 Jackson Hwy Chehalis, WA 98532 with Pastor Bill Morris on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 1:00 pm.
