Jerry Othell Deaver
April 20, 1942 - November 19, 2022
Jerry was born in White Salmon, Washington. His parents were Othell & Mary Deaver. He had two brothers, Gary and Noel and a sister, Deanna. He was raised and went to school in the Eugene Oregon area. Jerry excelled in sports, especially wrestling.
He loved the outdoors, running, fishing, hunting and camping. He was a gifted craftsman, able to build, remodel or fix just about anything. He began a 50-year career in the printing industry at the age of sixteen.
He had three children, Todd, Michelle and Christian, as well as six others he helped to raise, Michael, Kerry, Kevin, Denise, Derek and Danielle. He loved them all very much. He met and married Linda in 1985, lived in Chehalis Washington while continuing to drive to work in Portland and then in Olympia until he retired in 2009. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's shortly after. Its slow progression robbed him of his physical abilities but never his sense of humor. He brought laughter with his quick witted one-liners.
Jerry had 9 grandchildren 7 great-grandchildren, also numerous sister & brother in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was loved and will be missed by all, especially his wife of 37 years, Linda.
Jerry was proceeded in death by his parents, son Kevin, and younger brother Noel, who died at the age of 12.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be held in 2023. Arrangements will be posted here when they are made. Please feel free to contribute and share your favorite stories or pictures to this site. The family asks in lieu of flowers to donate to your favorite charity in honor of Jerry.
