Evelyn Martin Obituary

Evelyn Martin passed away, at Prestige Care in Centralia on October 5, 2023. She was born to John and Nora Larson on September 4, 1928 …at home near Ryderwood Washington. She graduated from Winlock High School in 1946. She immediately went to work for Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Co.  in Centralia as a Switchboard Operator. She met her future husband, Harold, at age 14 and they were married in late 1946. A daughter Susan was born in 1951. They moved from Ground Mound to Winlock in 1958. Evelyn retired from the Longview office of US West Telephone Co. in 1985. She then went to work for her brother Carl ‘s trucking company in Kelso as an office worker and dispatcher. She drove about 90 miles round-trip each working day until she retired at age 85 in about 2013. She was an extremely hard worker and rarely took a day off work. She loved cats, flowers, gardening and most importantly Chocolate. Her husband Harold died in 1993 after just moving to Adna in 1992. She had five brothers that passed before her. She leaves behind her daughter Susan ( son-in-law John) Wickert. Grandsons John Jr. (Tawna), and Scott Wickert. Her Great Grandchildren Brianna (Jorden) Hartley, Alex, Samantha, Ryan, Jessica , Kate, Megan, and Jared Wickert. Also a Great Great Granddaughter Gracelynn Hartley. Also many Nieces and Nephews that loved her.  We all loved her deeply and will miss her very much. May God Continue to Bless and Keep Her.
