Emily Roberts Obituary

Emily May (Estep) Roberts, 73, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on April 9, 2025 at St Peters Hospital, Olympia, with her loving husband at her side.  She was born July 1, 1951 in Chehalis to Thomas and Betty (Wilcoxson) Estep.  Emily attended school in Napavine a number of years, and graduated from WF West High School, Chehalis, in 1969.  She was employed by the Social Security Administration for 30 years, retiring in 2010.

Emily was married to Jerry White, and had two children, Bryan and Lisa.  They later divorced.  She then married Joe White, and spent the next 26 years as his devoted wife, until his passing in 2015.  A few years later, Emily reunited with her high school sweetheart, Gary Roberts.  They were married April 22, 2022 in a private ceremony in Las Vegas, NV.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents, her son Bryan, daughter Lisa, and grandson Bryan.  She is survived by her husband Gary; sister Betti Ann (Fred) Teitzel; brother Harold (Kristin) Buren; step daughter Sheila Donaldson; step son Shane (Nita) Roberts; the Joe White family and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Emily enjoyed her family and friends and loved cooking for holidays and family gatherings.  She also enjoyed traveling, clam digging, the many girls' trips to the beach, gardening and her beloved cats and dogs.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, May 31, 2025, 11:00 am, at the New Beginnings Church, 603 NW St Helens Ave., Chehalis.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Emily's name to the Lewis County Animal Shelter, St Jude Children's Research Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
