Elizabeth Ann Teitzel

Elizabeth (Betty) Ann (Estep) Teitzel passed away peacefully in her home June 19, 2025, in the company of her husband, Fred. She was born December 7, 1943, in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas to Thomas and Betty (Wilcoxson) Estep while her father was serving in the US Army 8th Air Force during World War II.

Betty Ann attended school in Napavine, graduating from Napavine High School in 1962. She was employed by Mary’s Corner Truck Center. Betty Ann was married to her husband, Fred, for nearly 62 years. Together they raised one son, William (Bill) Teitzel.

Betty Ann had a passion for cooking, sewing and playing piano. She enjoyed sharing her passion and never missed an opportunity to teach others. She loved playing Bunko with her friends and spoiling her beloved cat. Betty Ann always watched the Mariners and Seahawks games alongside her husband. In the 1970s, She was involved in the Forest Grange and the Napavine Jaycees. Betty Ann took great pride in her garden and the upkeep of their established family farm, where she raised and supported her family throughout her life.

Betty Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Betty Estep, and her sister, Emily Roberts. She is survived by husband, Fred, brother Harold (Kristin) Buren, son Bill (Jennifer) Teitzel, grandson Blake Teitzel, granddaughter Brianna (Dennis) Uy, and great grandchildren Jaelyn and Evren Uy.

A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, July 17 at 11am at Cattermole Funeral Home, located at 203 NW Kerron St in Winlock. Following the service, a brief graveside committal service will take place at Napavine Cemetery.

After the committal, a celebration of Betty Ann’s life will be held at the Forest Grange Hall, located at 3397 Jackson Hwy. in Chehalis. Betty Ann will be remembered for her love and compassion for others and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
