Edward Wickert Obituary

Ed Wickert, 81, a lifelong resident of the Winlock area, passed peacefully on January 20, 2024.

The first of six children born to Emery and Hazel (Omeg) Wickert, Ed graduated High School in 1960.  He briefly ran the Roxy Theater, briefly worked on a tugboat out of Hawaii, then began a lifelong career in the Wood Products Industry.  Ed retired from Shakertown Corp. as Millwright Supervisor.

He had many great Charter Boat Fishing trips and seasonal hunting with friends.  More recently, Ed enjoyed the Liars' Club and meeting with friends over coffee.

Photography and local history were also Ed's passions, along with raising Dobermans.

Ed leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Sue; son Don (Sue); daughters Barb, Cathy, and Cindy (Don) Miller; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother John (Sue); sister-in-law Debbie; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
