Delmer Lee Blankenship was a loving husband to his wife Teresa, of over 50 years, a devoted father to his three children grandfather to four grandchildren, cherished brother, uncle, and friend to many.
He is preceded in death by his father, Delmer Melvin, mother, Louella Mae, his twin brother Melvin Ray, and his younger brother, Edward Nolan.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa, His sons, Robert, Edward, and daughter Brianne. His grandchildren Eliza, Edison, Oliver, and Josiah. His niece Nicole, and nephews, Kelly and Dustin.
To his family and friends, he was the center of so many moments of joy, laugher, and life, He loved deeply and sincerely, we all knew how much we meant to him. He was passionate about the things that mattered the most to him and he caried that energy into every space he entered. His best quality was that he could make friends wherever he would go with his open and kind nature.
He shared an unbreakable bond with his twin brother, Melvin whose spirit he carried with him daily. When the two of them were together, the world felt more vibrant and exciting. They were the heartbbeat of every room, hilarious, rowdy, and unforgettable. You couldn't help but laugh and smile along when they'd get going on with their contagious laughter and long-winded stories.
A life-long interest in muscle cars became an enduring part of his identity. He, along with his boys, Robbie, and Eddie, built a 1967 Oldsmobile, which pulled in trophies at every car show they entered it into. He loved telling folks about every detail that went into making it what it was. In doing so, he inspired his sons to have that same drive and passion for muscle cars.
He held a special place in his heart for his daughter, Brianne. While many fathers can be overly protective of their daughters, he was confident in his daughter's abilities. So much so that he taught her how to drive a manual car at the age of nine. He admired her independent nature, value her curiosity, and respected her drive to achieve. His belief in her not only nurtured her independence but also fueled her conviction to pursue all her goals with full determination.
He loved spending time with his dogs, and over the course of his life he had many. He formed a genuine bond with each one he cared for. He cherished time spent with his family and friends. So many trips out in the woods huckleberry picking, hunting, picnicking, or just sightseeing. He treasured the memories of camping, swimming, and riding four-wheelers with his boys. The'd often go to places like The Lolo, Cottom wood flats, The buck place and Rocky Ridge Lake, where his final resting place will be.
He had an exceptional memory for scripture and a strong devotion to Jehovah God, sharing the bible with everyone he came across. His love for creation was his inspiration to give love and glory to Jehovah everywhere he would go.
We will carry him with us always in our hearts and in our memories. He leaves behind a legacy of love, humor and a life lived fully. Though our hearts are broken we are forever grateful for the years we had with such a great Husband, father, and friend.
