Dale “Betty” Slocum passed away peacefully January 24, 2020, in Morton, WA, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 28, 1939, in White Salmon, WA, to Reno & Teresa Ziegler.
Betty grew up in Underwood, graduated from Columbia High School in 1957, thereafter earning her LPN certification. She married her high school sweetheart, Calvin, in 1958. After starting their family and a few town and job location changes, they settled in the Packwood area in 1966. Betty later worked for many years as a postal clerk and retired from the Packwood Post Office.
The homemaker role she enjoyed, but most dear to her heart was that of “Grandma” time spent both with her grandsons in their childhood and most recent years in the company of great granddaughter, Ava.
Betty is survived by her husband, Calvin; daughters Susan (Jim) and Sara; grandsons Tom and Bob; great granddaughter Ava; and siblings Clark, Jimmy and Linda. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Kenny.
A special wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Betty was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
Date for interment services to be determined.
