On August 31, 2023 Connie Kay Alvord passed away peacefully, at 82 years young, with her children by her side.
She was born October 5, 1940 in Bend Oregon to Dorothy and Harold Kollock.
Through her years Connie had worked many different jobs; she was a lunch lady at Winlock Miller Elem School, she held multiple jobs in sales. Later in her life, she worked at the Pastime Tavern, where she met the love of her life, Don Alvord. Don and Connie were married 25 years prior to Don’s passing in 2010.
Connie had many joys throughout her life like cooking and baking, specifically with her grandkids.
She also liked square dancing, bowling, sewing and gardening. She was always busy!
One of her biggest joys were her show dogs, that was, of course, until she had grandkids! She also loved to travel, anywhere, but particularly, to the beach or a local casino. Connie enjoyed meeting up weekly with her friends for lunch and a visit
Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Don Alvord, and three stepsons Dennis (Rose), David and Doug (Patti) Alvord.
She leaves behind a sister, Cheryl Haberern of Harrington, WA; and a brother, Earl (Kellie) Kollock of Iowa.; in addition to, her five children: Janelle (Mel) Heiden of Winlock, Jon (Deb) Hensley of Winlock, Dean (Darla) Riding of Mesa, Arizona, Lynnette (Joe) Belcher of Castle Rock, Jodie (Kib) Curtis of Winlock and her stepson, Darrell (Nancee) Alvord of Winlock. Connie was blessed and very proud of her 24 grandkids. And she adored her many great and great-great grandchildren.
Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 12:00, Connie’s ashes will be interred at the Winlock Cemetery, next to her husband Don. A Celebration of Life and a potluck to follow at the United Methodist Church of Winlock.
