Bonnie Anderson Obituary

On August 28, 2021, Bonnie Mae Anderson, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away at age 77.

Bonnie was born on January 19, 1944, in Boise, Idaho. Her parents were Gladys and David Rae and Ivan Phillips. She was the youngest sibling to Donna Jean, Mary, and Dale.

As a youth, Bonnie played high school basketball and saxophone in the band. She enjoyed ranching and rodeo with her horse Smokey. Bonnie was a Rodeo Princess at the 1960 Snake River Stampede.

After graduating from Middleton High School, Bonnie moved to Ogden, Utah where she met and married her eternal love, Valo Bernard Anderson.  They first moved to Seattle, Washington before establishing their farm in Winlock, Washington. Here they raised their two children and were married for 56 years.

Bonnie loved her farm and had so much pride and joy in the animals, crops, and garden. Bonnie loved to sew, bake, and cook for her friends and family.  She will always be remembered for her wild blackberry pie and “Bon Burgers.”  Bonnie also retired from the Winlock School District after years of dedication providing transportation, assistance, and love to special needs students.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Renee Fenton, her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Marisa Anderson, granddaughters Rachel, Palen, Emilia, and Elizabeth, and grandson Tristan.

We will celebrate Bonnie’s life on September 18, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Urban’s Church in Winlock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests individuals honor Bonnie by sharing a smile and gesture of kindness with someone who needs a gift of love.
