It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Ann Morris, who left this world on Sept. 7, 2025, at the age of 88. Betty was born on July 18, 1937, in Iowa City, Iowa, to William and Ruth Turner. She graduated from Onalaska High School in 1955, where she met her future husband, Dwain Jenkins. The two married shortly after graduation and together welcomed three children: Rick, Gary and Karen. Dwain passed away in 1971. In 1976, Betty met Duly Morris, her partner and best friend. After 21 years together, they married in 1996 and made their home on the farm in Onalaska, Washington. Betty cherished the view of the mountain from their home. She and Duly became familiar faces at the local diner, where they shared coffee, laughter and conversation with friends. Betty’s life was defined by her warmth, generosity and homemaking talents. Her fresh-baked rolls and German chocolate cake were legendary, and she filled her pantry with jars of canned goods. With loving hands, she sewed baby quilts for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews—treasures that continue to be cherished today. She found joy in rooting for the Mariners, hunting for bargains and visiting yard sales. Betty loved to camp, and it was important to her to maintain familial connections at the Turner Round Up and Morris Reunion. Family was always at the heart of Betty’s world. She is survived by her and Duly’s children: Rick (Melissa) Jenkins, Karen (Larry) Miner, Pam Brady, Gary Wayne Morris, and Troy (Monica) Morris. She is also survived by her siblings Nancy Turner and Ralph (Kitty) Turner; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren who all loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duly; son, Gary Jenkins; and her siblings Howard Turner, Glen Turner, Peg Fontan and Bea Clark. Betty spent her final years at Sharon Care Center in Centralia, where she received excellent care and kindness. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff for their compassion and support. A service celebrating Betty’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 19, 2025, at the Salkum Fire Hall, 2495 U.S. Highway 12, Salkum, Washington. Friends and loved ones are warmly invited to gather, share memories and honor her beautiful life.
