Our mom, Barbara (Dolly) Eileen Schindler, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Chehalis West Assisted Living Center in Chehalis, Washington, at age 92 years old. Dolly was born to Franklin and Frona (Francis) Hicks in Chicago, Illinois, on Sept. 11, 1932. She was sixth of 10 children. Dolly met Ralph (Red) Schindler in Chehalis, Washington, at the old bus station. They married on Jan. 13, 1949. They added five children to their family—four girls and a boy. Dolly worked in several different professions throughout her life: waitressing, hotel maid, sales clerk, housekeeping, to name a few. She was president of the local Women's Aglow Organization for two years, which she greatly enjoyed. She attended the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church under Rev. Wanda Strech for many years. She also attended Destiny Christian Center and, most recently, the Potter’s House Open Bible Church in Centralia. She graduated in 1988 from the Lighthouse Bible Institute with a Bachelor of Theology degree, something she was very proud of. She was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-inlaw, her husband of almost 67 years, and five brothers and three sisters. She will be greatly missed by her surviving children: Nancy and Jim Kaiser, Patann and Jerry Peterson, Theodore and Janeen Schindler, Cindy and Carl Golde, Judy and Brian Heartley, and their foster son Arnie and LoRee Krause. She is also survived by her sister, Bonnie Urban; 18 grandchildren; 32 greatgrandchildren; 19 great-greatgrandchildren, with another on the way; many other family members; and many friends. Come celebrate her homegoing with us at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Napavine Assembly of God Church in Napavine, Washington. Reception to follow.
