Anthony "Tony" R. Jacobs
Age: 71
Date of Passing: October 21, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Anthony "Tony" Jacobs, 71, of Winlock, WA, on October 21, 2024. Born to Richard and Marie Jacobs in Lewiston, Idaho, Tony spent his early years exploring Idaho’s rugged landscapes, often rock-hounding with his father—a pastime that sparked his lifelong love for the outdoors.
Following his high school years, Tony served honorably in the US Army, demonstrating the same commitment and strength that would later define his civilian career. After his service, Tony dedicated over 30 years to a career as a lineman with Bonneville Power, proudly serving with IBEW Local 125. His courage, commitment to safety, and unyielding work ethic earned him numerous accolades, including Bonneville Administration’s Life Safety Award in 2001, the Exemplary Act Award in 2002, and the Peer Recognition in Demanding Excellence in Safety (PRIDES) Award in 2006. He was a lineman who didn’t just meet expectations but inspired others to rise to them.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Carla, the love of his life. Together, they built a family and a life full of love, laughter, and support. He will be deeply missed by his children, Andrea (Mike) Dulaney, Jenny (Jason) Reed, Annette (Kevin) Hamilton, TJ (Tammy) Jacobs, and Jacki (Chris) McLean; his siblings Diane Neglio, Scott Jacobs, and Terry Jacobs; his 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He joins his parents, Richard and Marie; his brother Randy; and his brother-in-law Richard Baker in peaceful rest.
Tony’s zest for life showed through his many interests. He loved building things, spending time outdoors, and exploring backroads in his truck. Always quick with a joke—especially the dirty kind—Tony was a Seahawks fan who savored the simplicity of a cold beer, good music (Billy Idol, AC/DC, Rob Zombie, and the Beatles), and the great outdoors. He could often be found tending to his yard, riding along on his mower with his Schmidt Beer in a cup holder. He was a man of loyalty and kindness, generous with both his time and resources, contributing regularly to causes like St. Jude’s and the ASPCA.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date, where we will gather to remember Tony’s legacy, his laughter, and his love.
A Note from His Sweetheart
“To my sweetheart, sometimes late at night, my memories sneak out of my eyes and roll down my cheek. I love you with all my heart, and I will be with you someday. Love, your sweetie.”
