Roy Neal Stewart passed away October 20th, 2018 at 4:10AM at the age of 81. Roy was born September 12th, 1937 in Okolona, Arkansas to Jessie Stewart and Ruth Goodson. He worked at age 14 as a firefighter for the park rangers. When his mother passed, when he was 16, his brother in law Vernon took guardianship of him so he could join the service to provide for himself. At the age of 16 he enlisted in the Army, and age 17 he was serving in Germany. Roy came back to the states to find a little German girl Joyce Hamilton. Roy and Joyce were married April 3rd, 1958. He worked at Robert Dallas Mill in Glendale, Oregon. He worked several years providing for his family as an operating engineer out of Local 701. Those who knew and loved Roy knew that he loved to pick and goof off with people. He always lent a hand when needed and took good care of those who could not care for themselves. It was said many times he should have been a nurse. He was kind and thoughtful to all he knew. Roy was proceeded in death by his father Jessie Stewart (Essie), mother Ruth Goodson, his sister Lillian Frost, and son Roy Daniel Stewart, his loving wife Joyce A. Stewart, and a granddaughter Julie Stewart. Roy is survived by his aunt Jeannie Cottriel (whom he called sister), two brothers Leon Stewart of Gainesville, TX and Dewaine Stewart of Houston, TX, his sister Sherry Corley of Gainesville, TX, his children, Donna L. Stewart, Kevin N. Stewart, Tami C. Page (Walter), and Joy A. Stewart. Roy had 14 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.
