Robert J Hubbard (Bob) Passed away on 20 February 2019 just short of his 89th birthday.
Born 2 March 1930 in McRoberts, Kentucky to Charles and Hazel Hubbard.
Bob moved to Washington, Menlo Valley, with his parents at the age of 5. He graduated high school there after playing football and basketball, games he loved to play and was a three year varsity letterman.
He served in the Marines and later Air Force during the Korean War. He returned and began his college education in Pullman where he met and later married Martha Grace Orban. After moving to Eureka, Ca., he attended and graduated from Humboldt state with a degree in Forestry. In 1960 with two of three boys in tow, they moved to Castle Rock and worked for Weyerhaeuser Co. for 15 years. Bob continued to work in the timber industry for many years and later was a guard for Green Hill in Chehalis, WA.
Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman especially in his younger years when he taught all his sons how to shoot, fish and hunt.
Around 1980 he began to do bench press and other powerlifting and went on to hold the world record in his age and weight class. He traveled back East and to the Midwest to compete and has numerous trophies, titles and awards while he competed.
He was preceded in death by his wife Martha (De De), two brothers Jack and Charlie.
A Memorial will be held in his honor on 30 March 2019 at 1pm at the Chehalis Baptist (Grace Church) 1866 Market Blvd. Chehalis, WA 98532
