Karolyn Brinton Obituary

Karolyn Brinton, daughter of Dilworth Welsh Brinton and Ruth Margaret Bates was born in Wanship Summit County, Utah on December 6 1939, a Lewis County resident since 1966. She died August 2, 2019 in Longview Washington. Karolyn leaves behind her children, Wendy Carolan of Winlock, Dan Elliott, Veradale Washington, Keith Elliott Spanaway Washington and Amy Elliott Toledo. 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. And sisters Janet Dryer of Seaview Washington and Joan Enders of Longview Washington. She was preceded in death by her daughter Beverly Kim in 1957, her father Dilworth W Brinton in 1983, her mother Ruth Young in 2009 the father of her children John Daniel Elliott Jr. in 1989. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved serving in the LDS temples. She had been a member of the Longview-Kelso Kennel Club, The German Shepherd Club of Washington State, The English Springer Spaniel Club of America, Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of Washington State and had been a charter member of the Timberland Valley Dog Fanciers Association in Chehalis WA. and a member of Little People of America. Karolyn was happiest as a wife, mother and homemaker and was medically retired from the hospitality industry in 1990. She kept many customers and co workers as lifelong friends. Last employment was as a private contractor for TalkCity where she worked on the internet as a as a City Standards Advisor. Karolyn was a lifelong activist democrat. Karolyn was known for her love for her family, her church, the theater, her diverse array of friends and of dogs as well as for her sense of humor, love of learning and her love for debate. She also loved creating websites for friends and family. She made friends easily and had “never met a stranger”. She loved working on family history and kept an updated journal to augment the topical autobiography as a gift for her family. Karolyn also loved music, University of Florida football, reading, writing, video games, computers, movies, live stage productions, traveling and talking on the phone. She attended High School in Ridgefield Washington, class of 1958 and graduated from a business college in Longview WA.
