Jack W. Anderson, 69, of Mossyrock, passed away April 1, 2019, at Peace Health St. John’s Medical Center in Longview, due to complications of the flu. He was the fourth of five children born to Earl and Shirley Anderson of Mossyrock.
Jack graduated from Mossyrock High School in 1967, and joined the United States Army shortly after. He served honorably during the Vietnam era.
Jack is survived by two daughters, Melanie Anderson of Chehalis and Tamra Derrick of Rochester; two sons, Robert of Idaho and Shawn (Shannon) of Mossyrock; two stepdaughters, Carey Roach and Jodi West; and one stepson, Mathew Shramm; six grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren; two brothers, Steve (Butch) and wife, Sandy, Marvin (Kelly) and wife, Lorna; sister, Peggy (Steve) Birley; and his girlfriend, Diane Biard
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Judy.
Jack had a big love for all of his children and grandchildren. He worked in construction and was involved with horses all his life. Jack was a true cowboy and was born before his time. He bred and raised horses on his farm in Mossyrock. Jack’s happiest time was riding horses and being with his grandchildren. He had an outgoing personality and was very outspoken. Jack left no doubt where he stood on the positions he took, He will be missed by all of his children, grandchildren, his family and all who knew him.
A potluck memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., May 11, 2019, at the Mossyrock Horse and Riders Club, 114 Ciannigan Hill Rd., Silver Creek, Wash., off of Flynn Rd.
