Gealey “Wahneta” Fisher (McFarland), 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home in Winlock, WA on September 10, 2018. Wahneta was born on April 2, 1926 in Cloverly, WY to Lake and Ida Marie McFarland. She was one of eleven children. Most of her childhood was spent on a farm in Montana. She enjoyed sneaking out of the house in the early mornings to help her daddy with chores and work the fields. In 1947 she married Lawrence James Fisher and had four children. She enjoyed working in the garden, reading, crafting, walks and spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who describes her greatest blessing as “my family, my gift from God”. Wahneta is survived by three sisters, Ida Mae, Neomia and Elizabeth, her four children, Vandaline, Sheila (Gary), Debra (Roger), and James L. (Darlene), 14 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, seven of her siblings, and one granddaughter. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 11:30am at Saint Francis Xavier Mission in Toledo, WA.
