Fred J Brown

Fred J. Brown, 99, passed away peacefully at his beloved home in Toledo Dec. 26, 2018. He was born Nov. 28, 1919, to Filbert and Bethena Brown of Dodgen Ridge, N.C. Fred was the oldest living child of 21 siblings. He is survived by his son, Wayne Brown; daughter, Sue Moody; sister, Pearl Smith; and brothers, Spurgion Brown and Waver Brown; along with many beloved grandchildren; greatgrandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; cousins; nieces and nephews. Fred was cherished deeply and loved by all. He moved to Washington with his wife and children in 1949, where he worked in the logging industry, timber faller and bull buck. Fred has been a hard worker his entire life. At 99, he was in his right mind and able bodied to do the things he loved until his last breath. He was an avid hunter, gardener and farmer. And he always had a story or joke to tell. He will be dearly missed. The love and respect for him will continue in our hearts. "I love you, Grandpa." ~ Renee
