Floy M Boreen

Floy (Sheldon) Boreen, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Sept. 1, 2018, at the age of 88. She was born Jan. 22, 1930, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Sheldon. Floy married Glen Boreen in 1991, on the big island of Hawaii. Floy and Glen spent 21 years together and made numerous trips back to Hawaii to enjoy their favorite island. Floy lived most of her life in Winlock, Wash. She was an avid reader and enjoyed visiting the Winlock Library and her favorite library lady. Visits from friends made her day. Floy’s passions were her African violets, feeding and watching the birds and collecting feathers. She is survived by her sisters, Jean Wene and Sandy (Dick) Seymour; stepchildren, Zan Simpson, Steve (Jeanne) Barnett, Mike (Ellen) Barnett and Kate Boreen; and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Glen; son, Anthony (Skip) Fries, stepsons, Jerry Barnett and Phil Boreen; grandsons, Justin Barnett; niece, Danielle, Seymour and nephews, Andrew Seymour and Zakory Commissaris. The family would like to extend our deepest appreciation for the loving care provided by her caregiver and friend, Mary Ann and caregivers, Gabrielle, Jessica, Meagan and Joy. Floy will always be remembered by her words of wisom, “Breath in... Breath out!”, “It is what is is!”, and “One day at a time!”
