John R. Strom a lifelong resident of Toledo, WA passed away on April 10, 2024 at the age of 73. 

In his early years John worked for Weyerhaeuser and drove log stacker. He left Weyerhaeuser in the mid 80's and opened his own taxidermy studio where he became well known for the quality of his work. John later went to work at Longview Fibre and retired in 2008. 

John enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to fish, and treasured time spent with his brothers and nephews hunting. He had a passion for flower gardening and was a talented carpenter.

John was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan since high school after his football coach attended a Vince Lombardi clinic. In 2019 John attended a Packers game at Lambeau field and fulfilled a lifetime dream.

John is survived by his wife of 24 years, Roberta Nelson-Strom and his children John (Erma) Strom, Vader, Christy (Alex) Rolfe, Poulsbo, Sherri (Phil) Wade, Toledo, and Stepson Eric Nelson, Shelton, as well as 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was also a beloved brother, uncle and friend to many.

John was preceded in death by his first wife Cindy in 1995. Per his wishes no services will be held. Please honor John by Sharing your favorite memories and stories.
