Warren L. Walker, 92, a lifetime resident of Pe Ell, passed away peacefully in his home Wednesday morning, May 17, 2017. He was active in many community events, including the annual Memorial Day Service for 62 years. Warren is survived by three daughters, Vickie Monaco, Chehalis, Kathie Bennett, Chehalis and Roxie Curtis, Tumwater; two step-sons, Ray Purcell, Hoquium and Tony Purcell, Utah; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora; and step-son, Steve Purcell. Warren graduated from Pe Ell High School in 1942, then entered the United States Army during World War II. He worked for and retired from Weyerhaeuser, along with several logging operations. He was active in several organizations including Veterans of Foreign Wars, Boy Scouts of America as a scout master, gun safety instructor and league bowler. Warren was an avid horse rider, hunter and fisherman. His passing is a great loss to his family and the community. A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pe Ell, Wash., Friday, May 26, 2017, at 10 a.m. There will be a social with light refreshments at the United Methodist Church in Pe Ell. Arrangements are under the direction of Cattermole Funeral Home.
