January 28, 1944 ~ February 2, 2016 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Richard K. Mansfield was born in Santa Cruz, California on January 28, 1944 to E. Blaine Mansfield and Cecilia K. Mansfield. He grew up in Long Beach, California and attended schools there. He served three years in the US Army, primarily in Germany. An avid outdoorsman. he enjoyed fishing, camping and water sports with his family. He spent the greater part of his adult life working as a business consultant and commodities broker. In retirement, he worked on his family's 50 acre farm in Montesano, WA until his health prevented him from doing so. During his lifetime, Rick touched the lives of many people. He had a big heart, especially where it came to kids, and spent many hours, days and nights counseling and advising. He spent several years working for charitable causes in Mexico, providing farm implements, components for water systems and wells for poor families to help improve their lifestyles. He also helped raise funds to provide emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks to small communities. Rick passed away on February 2, 2016, at his home in Winlock after an extended illness, with his wife, son and niece present. He is survived by his wife, Chris Mansfield, son, Kenneth Mansfield, daughter, Halston Altamirano and grandchildren, Jaden Wright and Alexus Altamirano and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family service is planned at a later date. Donations may be made in his name, to Assured Hospice of Centralia, whose services went above and beyond the family's expectations. Home is the hunter home from the hill, and the sailor home from the sea.                                                                                                                              Robert Louis Stevenson
