Michael Dennis Legg Sr.

Michael D. Legg of Onalaska, Wash., 65, passed away after a courageous fight against cancer July 13, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Mike was born to Dennis and Elsie Legg March 22, 1951, in Chehalis, Wash. Mike was the youngest of four children and attended Chehalis schools. Mike lived in various places in Western Washington, finally settling in Onalaska in 1975, where he and his first wife raised four children. During this year, he also began his career at Cascade Hardwood LLC., in Chehalis, Wash., retiring from there in 2014. In 1998, he began dating his wife, Yvette (Pope) and helped raise his two stepchildren. Mike loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and clam digging, to name a few. He was an avid Seahawks and Mariners fan. His passion was cars and he loved building engines, painting cars, burning rubber and racing. Yvette and Mike enjoyed taking out their Harley together and taking off for long rides across country. He enjoyed life to the fullest and made sure he never had a dull moment. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Elsie Legg; infant son, Keith; and brother-in-law, Charlie Larson. He is survived by his wife, Yvette (Pope); sons, Michael (Kori Riley) Legg of McCleary, Wash., Steve (Amy) Legg of Winlock, Wash., and Jake Skaggs of Onalaska, Wash.; daughters, Melanie (Bill) Snyder of Maple Valley, Wash., Cara Legg of Chehalis, Wash., and Sam Skaggs of Onalaska, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Robert (Elsie) Legg, Lola Larson and Harry (Donna) Legg; numerous nieces and nephews; and his favorite child, his Wiener-Dog, Coupe! A celebration of life will be held at Logan Hill Grange, Saturday, July 30, 2016, at 2:00 p.m.
