Leonard C. Warnock, age 86, died in a Portland, Oregon hospital on April 8, 2018 with his family at his side. Lenny was the eighth child born to Wilbur and Eleanor [Wells] Warnock. He lived most of his life in Lewis County and worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator. Among his many jobs were helping to build three hydroelectric dams on the Cowlitz River and projects at the Centralia Steam Plant. He enjoyed gardening, digging clams and cutting firewood. In 1951 he married the love of his life, Darla, and they were blessed with two sons, Randy and Rick. In the late 1950’s he began to learn what the Bible teaches about the future and in 1961 he was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He delighted in telling others about the promises that God has made to turn the earth into a Paradise, like the Garden of Eden was, in order to fulfill His original purpose and give people the opportunity to live on it forever. One of his favorite Bible passages is Isaiah 65:21-25; “They will build houses and live in them, and they will plant vineyards and eat their fruitage. They will not build for someone else to inhabit...They will do no harm nor cause any ruin in all my holy mountain, says Jehovah.” Lenny was preceded in death by his brothers, Wilbur Jr, Willard, James and Fred; his sisters, Alice and Eleanor. Lenny is survived by his wife of 66 years, Darla [Bond]; sister, Dorothy; sons, Randy & wife Rhonda and Rick & wife Laurie; six grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
