NICHOLS, Laura Dean born on September 14, 1932 in Craig, Colorado, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2015 in Centralia, Washington. A resilient and vivacious lady, her outgoing personality will be missed by all of her family and friends. Laura will be lovingly remembered by her children; Anna (James) Bridges, Mark (Annette) Erickson, Susan (Carey) Mossop, Ruth (Mike) Dick, 13 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. She also leaves her brothers and sisters; Marie Parnell, Pearl Mounts, Clyde (Jean), Irene Carter, George, Flora Gunther, Melvin (Nancy), Nick (Carol), numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Laura is predeceased by her father Oscar, mother Hazel, and her brother Louie. In Laura’s earlier years, she enjoyed raising her family, baking and cooking, as well as being a part of the local garden club, she also enjoyed teaching Sunday School. It was her compassion and helping nature that brought her into her career as a care aide. Life was not without its struggles for Laura, but her perseverance and creativity made her a survivor for so many years, many times leaving her family to worry while she carried on with her care-free attitude. In her later years, Laura could be found roaming the halls of the Riverside Care Home where she would eagerly await the arrival of friends and family for the visits that she loved so much. To the nurses and staff at the care home, Laura was known as the fashionista and would always bring a smile to their faces. A Celebration of Life Service to share in Laura’s legacy will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 2:00pm in the Community Presbyterian Church, 288 Carlisle Avenue, Onalaska, Washington.
