Joan DeYoung

In loving memory of Joanne Estelle DeYoung Robinson Kim. She was born Jan. 18, 1932 and passed away Sept. 14, 2016, at the age of 83, in Centralia Wash., where she spent most of her life. Joanne raised five children, who she loved very much; Laura, Leonard, Bruce, Brian and Robert. She loved her five grandchildren, Tiffany, Jennifer, Michelle, Levi and Dominic; and her three great-grandchildren, Devin, Aslan and Keanu. Joanne was also very active in her community, family and church. She loved to sing everything from in the opera in Seattle to hymns in her local church. She was very opinionated and outspoken, was never shy and always had a good story to tell during the holidays. Joanne was always the life of the party, she loved to dance and made sure you were dancing too. She was artistically inclined and was very passionate about gardening, painting and was an exquisite cook. Joanne was a very intellectual person who took science and education very seriously. She also loved animals and had many pets and will always be remembered as a philanthropist and a genuinely caring person. Joanne was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, who loved her family very much. She will be deeply missed, but will live on in our memories and in our hearts. Rest In Peace. You are invited to her memorial service at Harrison Square Presbyterian Church, 1227 Harrison Ave., Centralia, WA., Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at 2:30 p.m.
