Shirley Mae Laws

Shirley Laws, 89, of Chehalis, Wash., passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018. She grew up in Centralia and raised her family in Winlock. Shirley attended Central Washington College of Education, where she met her husband, Chuck. Chuck and Shirley both spent many years as educators, Shirley as a kindergarten teacher in Winlock. In their retirement, Chuck and Shirley enjoyed traveling and went on many trips throughout the world. She also loved crafting and spending time with family and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck; and son-in-law, Charles. She is survived by her children, Steve (Linda), Kevin, Carey (Margitka), Cheryl and Heidi; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. A service will be held at the Winlock United Methodist Church, Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at 2 p.m. The event is welcome to all. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the church in Shirley’s remembrance.
